Finding a caregiver isn’t something most of us plan for. Then something happens and you realize you need help now. Partners in Care can provide you with home care services, often within 24 hours from your first call. Our caregivers are insured and certified, and all have the training, supervision, and screening you or your loved one needs to be safe at home.
Every Partners in Care home health aide undergoes an intensive training program to become certified. Our certification program exceeds the guidelines established by the New York State Department of Health—we provide our aides with 39 hours more training that New York State requires. Why? Because we have found that the most caring aides are those with more classroom preparation. The initial training covers an extensive range of subjects, from nutrition and vital signs to personal care, sensitivity to other cultures, and professional boundaries. To complete the certification process, aides must work under the supervision of a nurse, who makes eight home visits within 60 days. All Partners in Care aides receive 14 hours of in-service training every year to maintain certification, as well as training on topics required by OSHA. Aides who are already certified are required to take a full-day competency review before they can begin working for Partners in Care.
Each home health aide works closely with your dedicated nurse supervisor and has access to the resources necessary to ensure that you or your loved one receives competent, professional care. Our aides can recognize changes in behavior, vital signs, or other conditions that warrant a nurse’s attention. Even very subtle changes are often caught early enough to keep you or your loved one out of the hospital.
Every Partners in Care home health aide must pass comprehensive background checks on state and federal levels, as well as health checks (including drug screens and annual random drug testing) and reference checks. In addition, we run fingerprint checks through the FBI database.
We understand your concerns, and we guarantee your satisfaction. If you are not happy with your home health aide, our supervisors can work with you in order to resolve any issues or we will match you with someone new.
