Speech Therapy

Speech therapy involves much more than relearning or improving your ability to form words, and it can help people of all ages. You or a loved one may have an illness that has affected the muscles that control swallowing and/or help you form words. Other conditions following brain injury may also benefit from speech therapy. If you desire more hours with a therapist than your current insurance will cover, Partners in Care speech therapists can help.

Partners in Care speech therapists will develop a program that can help you or a loved one strengthen the muscles of the mouth, neck, and face to alleviate problems such as choking and coughing, while improving the ability to speak clearly, chew, and swallow. We will also help you:

• Understand and process what is being said
• Find other ways to communicate after a stroke, including making gestures or facial expressions
• Read, write, perform calculations, and remember things
• Use strategies to cope when communication is difficult or problematic

Partners in Care speech therapists will help you develop an exercise program tailored to your individual needs, as well as strategies to ensure that speaking and swallowing are easier and safer. Partners in Care speech therapists care for patients of all ages, including those in need of Early Intervention (ages 0-3).
